  • We use analytics cookies only if you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time.
  • We send updates only to people who have asked for them and confirmed by email.

This policy is published under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011. It is also written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.

Personal data we collect

When you send an enquiry

Your name, your email address, your organisation (if you give it), the type of enquiry, your message, and any other personal data you choose to include in it. Please do not include sensitive personal data, such as financial, health or identity document details.

When you send us your details for careers

Your name, your email address, your organisation (if you give it), and what you tell us about yourself.

When you subscribe to updates

Your first name, your email address, the updates you choose, and a record of when and how you consented.

When you visit the website

Our hosting provider records technical information each time a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser and device type, and the referring page. These logs are needed to deliver the website and to keep it secure.

If you accept analytics cookies, Microsoft Clarity also records how you use our pages, as described under Analytics and cookies.

When the spam check runs

When you send one of our forms, an automated security check (Vercel BotID) runs in your browser to tell people apart from automated programs. It examines technical characteristics of your browser and device. We use the result only to block automated abuse.

Subscriptions

  • We use double opt-in. When you subscribe, we email you a link, and we add you to our list only after you open it and confirm. Each link works once, for seven days. Until you confirm, we do not add you to any list, although our email provider keeps its usual delivery log of the email we send you.

  • Every update has a link to change your choices or unsubscribe, which takes effect at once. You can also email info@hazaar.co.in, and we act on your request promptly.
  • We keep a record of your consent: the updates you chose, when you asked, when you confirmed and the version of this policy. This lets us show what you agreed to, as the law requires.

Careers

We use the details you send through our careers page only to consider you for roles at Hazaar, and we share them only with the people involved in hiring decisions. Hazaar never asks candidates for money at any stage.

Analytics and cookies

With your consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our pages: which pages are visited, how far people scroll, where they click, and where they have difficulty. Clarity creates recordings of visits and heatmaps, which we review to find and fix problems. Form fields are masked in your browser, so Clarity never records what you type into them. We tell Clarity that advertising storage is denied. Clarity does not load at all unless you accept analytics cookies.

We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which use no cookies and do not identify you. Our cookie policy lists every cookie we use and lets you change your choices.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it for us, on our instructions, under contract:

  • Vercel Inc. hosts the website and provides the spam check and our cookieless measurement. The server functions that receive your forms run in Mumbai, India.
  • Resend delivers emails from the website and stores our list of subscribers.
  • Microsoft Corporation provides Clarity analytics, if you accept analytics cookies.
  • Our email service provider stores the mailbox where messages are received.

We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example to a court, regulator or law enforcement agency acting lawfully. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing or advertising.

Processing outside India

Some of our service providers process personal data outside India: Resend in the United States (it sends our emails from its region in Japan); Microsoft in the United States and elsewhere; and Vercel, our hosting provider, which may keep short-term operational logs of its own in the United States and elsewhere. We keep the website’s security and request logs in India. Any processing outside India is subject to the protections Indian law requires, and we do not transfer personal data to any country to which the Government of India has restricted transfers.

How long we keep it

You can ask us to erase them, and we do so unless the law requires us to keep them.
Unconfirmed subscription requestsNot added to any list. The link expires after seven days; our email provider keeps its delivery log of the confirmation email for its standard period.
Clarity recordings30 days. Heatmaps, and a small sample of recordings that Clarity keeps or that we mark for review, up to 9 months.
Technical and security logsOne year, which meets Indian law (at least 180 days now, and one year from 13 May 2027). Stored in India, then deleted automatically.
Spam check resultsUsed at the moment you send a form. We do not keep them.

We keep personal data longer only if the law requires it or it is needed for a legal claim.

How we protect it

We take reasonable security measures to protect personal data, including:

  • encryption of all traffic to and from the website (HTTPS), enforced for every visit;
  • a strict content security policy and other browser security protections;
  • confirmation links that are encrypted, so that your email address never appears in plain text in a link;
  • access to personal data limited to the people who need it;
  • service providers chosen for their security practices and bound by contract;
  • a process for detecting, responding to and reporting security incidents as the law requires.

If a personal data breach affects you, we tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it, and for the names of the other organisations we have shared it with and what we shared;
  • ask us to correct, complete or update your personal data;
  • ask us to erase your personal data, unless the law requires us to keep it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, which does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it;
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so;
  • have a grievance about our handling of your personal data heard and resolved.

To withdraw consent to analytics, use Your privacy choices at the foot of any page, or our cookie policy. To unsubscribe from updates, use the link in any update. To use any other right, email info@hazaar.co.in with “Privacy request” in the subject, or choose “Privacy request” on our contact form. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act. We respond within 30 days.

You can ask for this policy in English or in any language listed in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18, and our forms and subscriptions are for adults only. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change materially affects how we use personal data you have already given us, we tell you where we can, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
