Corporate governance

Good governance is how we make sure that Hazaar is run in the interests of everyone who relies on it. This page sets out who is accountable, how decisions are taken and recorded, and how anyone can hold us to account.

Governance principles

The rules we govern by

They apply to the designated partners first, and to everyone who acts for Hazaar.

  • Accountability by name

Every decision has a named owner, and the designated partners answer for all of them.

  • Decisions in writing

Significant decisions are recorded, so that each can be traced to the people who took it and why.

  • Conflicts declared

Anyone with a personal, family or financial interest in a decision declares it in writing and steps back from it until it is resolved.

  • Honest records

Every record is complete, accurate and made on time. We are open and honest with auditors, regulators and the authorities.

  • The law as the minimum

We comply with every law that applies to us, and hold ourselves to the higher standards we publish.

  • Open to challenge

Anyone can report a concern in confidence. We do not tolerate retaliation against anyone who speaks up in good faith.
